How to Make Melt and Pour Snowflake Soaps at Home

What You’ll Need

A heat-safe measuring cup to melt the soap base
A snowflake-shaped silicone mold or any mold you like
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prep Your Workspace
Find a clean and dry surface to work on. Keep your materials nearby so everything is easy to reach.
2. Cut and Melt the Soap Base
Use a knife to carefully cut the soap base into small cubes. Smaller pieces melt faster and more evenly.
Put the cubes into the heat-safe measuring cup. Microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each round. Be careful—the cup can get hot!
3. Add Your Scent and Sparkle
Once the soap is fully melted, mix in your fragrance oil or essential oil. About 1 teaspoon should be enough, but check the bottle’s instructions.
Sprinkle in your additive, like glitter or dried herbs, and stir until evenly combined.
4. Pour the Soap Into the Mold
Carefully pour the melted soap into your snowflake mold. If bubbles form on the surface, spritz them with rubbing alcohol for a smooth finish.
5. Let It Set
Allow the soap to cool and harden at room temperature. This usually takes about 1-2 hours.
6. Remove the Soap From the Mold
Gently press on the back of the mold to release your snowflake soaps. If they’re sticking, let them cool a bit longer.
Tips for Success
Experiment with colors: Add a few drops of soap-safe dye for colorful snowflakes!
Layer for a unique look: Pour one layer, let it cool slightly, and add a second color or glitter.
